Front Yard/ Porch When you first arrive at Tales Cottage, you see a large, almost mansion-like cabin, frosted in a white blanket of snow. Pine trees surround the area, giving it a sense of solitude, although not in a bad manner. The air is crisp and the snow crunches beneath your feet, as you shiver slightly in a winter coat, admiring the scenery. A cobblestone path leads from the gate in front of you to the warmly lit hut, where silver smoke drifts from the chimney. You can see that a welcoming wreath hangs on the wooden door. Will you go in? Living room The sweet scent of cinnamon wafts in the warm air, while flames dance in the fireplace. Many comforting sofas and chairs are arranged in the large room for your relaxation. Although colorful stockings have been hung and small tables have been piled with various treats, something is still missing. What’s that in the corner? A Christmas tree… still undecorated. Kitchen To the left of the fireplace, is a narrow hall with an arched doorway. To where does this lead, you wonder? Through the dimly lit passage, you can find… what else, but the kitchen! Delicious aromas find their way to your nose, as your mouth begins to water. Cakes, cookies, hot cocoa… anything you want, you can surely find. A large oak table sits far from the kitchen appliances, each place already set and ready for hungry friends. A tasty dinner will be served every night, along with lunch and breakfasts. Stairs/ hallway/ bathrooms To the right of the living room, you will find a staircase. Oak railings line each side, as to not have someone falling down the steps. At the top, after turning the corner, a fairly wide hallway, decorated with Christmas garlands and ribbons shelters the rooms. Guys on right and girls on left. Four bathrooms are also located at the end of the hallway for your convenience. Each room has already been assigned accordingly, and your name has been engraved on the respective door. Rooms From the hallway, you can access your rooms. As mentioned above, your name has already been engraved in silver on your door. Your room is your escape and absolutely private, unless you don’t mind others coming in and out. Decorate it however you wish. Balcony At the end of the upper hallway is a wooden door, where a small, semi-circle-shaped window sits near the top. If you decide to go outside, either day or night, prepare to be amazed. During the day, snow usually falls softly, while the white-crested, purple mountains stand in the distance. Because Tales cottage rests on a peak, you can see for miles around atop the balcony. The Trail If you like nature, particularly animals, then it’s time to hit the trail! A bit from Tales cottage, you will discover the wonderful outdoor world. Mainly consisting of forest and snow, it is highly advised to take a few of your friends along with you. While you’re out there, be on the look out of all sorts of wild animals, including bears, moose, wolves, foxes and rabbits. Remember, leave nothing but footsteps and take nothing but pictures! Lake McKinley Follow a steep path to the west of Tales Cottage and you will find a frozen lake. More than often, you’ll find animals here as well. But if the bears don’t intimidate you into leaving, the ice is thick enough for you to go ice-skating, or perhaps you’d prefer ice hockey with a few close friends. The IceCaves Up for some exploring? Well, if you take a trek past the frozen lake you’ll find the infamous ice caves. Who knows what kind of creatures lurk in there? Just be careful.
